First Holy Communion and Confirmation
Congratulations to the 62 children and teens from our St. Benedict community who will be receiving the sacraments of Confirmation and First Holy Eucharist this Saturday, April 30. With such a large group of candidates this year, we had to divide them into two Masses, which is always a good problem to have! The first group will receive their sacrament at 10am and the second group will receive theirs at 2pm. Please continue to pray for all of them as they begin a wonderful new time in their faith journey as fully initiated members of our Church. I hope to see many of them soon as Altar Servers at Masses! A special thank you to all of their parents, teachers and catechists who helped prepare them for this very special day.
Sign Up on Realm
As you may have heard, St. Benedict recently adopted Realm as our parishioner database. Before Realm, the parish had a database where we kept names, addresses, sacraments and other details from parishioner registration forms. With Realm you control your information, what others see, you have the ability to communicate with other parishioners and your ministry groups, you can be part of an online parish directory, control your electronic giving and more! Claim your profile today to activate it. To activate, or sign in to this secure site, you need to respond to an invitation of which you should have received April 4th (it could have gone into your spam folder). If you need it re-sent, please contact Amy in the office by emailing her at afletcher@stbenedict.org. We look forward to hearing from you soon!
Month of May
As we prepare to enter the month of May this Sunday, I would like to remind us that in the Catholic tradition, the month of May is dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary commonly known as “May Devotion.” We are encouraged to offer special group/personal prayers through the intersection of the Blessed Mother within this month. I invite you and your family to come and join us for our daily recitation of the Rosary before Mass at 7:40am (Mon-Fri) in the parish chapel. You are also encouraged to have your personal and family 'May Devotion' in your families. I ask that you include a prayer for peace in the world, especially for an end to the war between Russia and Ukraine and also for our church building process.
The 1st grade students in our St John Bosco School will observe their May Devotion with the “May Crowning” right after the school Mass this Friday, May 6th. The May Crowning will be held outdoors around the Mary Garden this year. We will also bless the newly installed statue of the Blessed Mother during the event.
