Via Christi Society Mission Appeal
On behalf of our parish community, I welcome Fr. Nicholas Shagel, VC to our parish community this weekend as he comes to direct the Mission Appeal for the Via Christi Society. For those who may be hearing this name for the first time, the Via Christi Society is the Religious Society that Fr. Manasseh and I belong to. Fr. Nicholas is the Pastor of St. Rose of Lima Parish in Safford, Arizona. He will be celebrating all of the Masses this weekend to thank you for your current and continued support of the Via Christi Society.
In the last fiscal year, the Via Christi Society received a total of $15,164 from individual parishioners in our parish community. These funds were used for the training of our Seminarians and basic operations of the Society. I especially thank those individuals who gave full tuition to several of our Seminarians, and those who signed up for recurring online giving. May God continue to bless and provide for you as you support our missionary work.
Construction Update From the Building Committee
Concrete has been poured for the elevated cry room and ramp, along with the floor of the Narthex where the footings were installed. The floor of the choir loft and the stairs were poured in preparation of the final flooring. Next week the lower Sanctuary is scheduled to be poured, including the ramp to the Sanctuary. The north transept is also scheduled to be poured.
The mason continues with the construction. The bell tower is at a current height of 40 feet, with 34 more feet to be added. The masonary work on the west end to enclose the building will continue as the concrete areas are poured.
