Charity and Development Appeal (CDA) Update
During the week, I received an update for our parish participation in the Diocesan Charity and Development Appeal (CDA). I was delighted to see that 83 families from our parish community have already participated in the CDA with a total pledge of $27,727. This represents 26% of our total goal of $85,000. I thank those who have already participated, and encourage those who have not participated yet to consider sending their pledge or payment this week.
This weekend is designated as the Lay-Witness Weekend. Some parish families will give a presentation during all the Masses, inviting us to participate. I would like to remind those who took the CDA envelopes home last weekend to remember to return them to the office or drop them in the collection basket during Mass. The CDA envelopes are available at the Church entrance. Please give us a call in the parish office at 480.961.1610 if you have any questions or if you need help setting up your online payment.
Prayers for the Earthquake Victims in Turkey and Syria
Let us lift up our hearts in prayer to God for victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria. We pray for the repose of souls of the departed, for healing for those injured and for the many families grieving the loss of their loved ones. We also pray for the safety and protection of emergency personnel working to save lives in the wake of this disaster. I encourage those who are able to to send their donations to the
Catholic Relief Services and the
Catholic Near East Welfare Association.
