Joint Staff Lenten Retreat
I ask for your prayers for our St. John Bosco School and St. Benedict Parish Staff who held their Lenten retreat today. This was an in-house, joint-staff retreat held at our SJB campus and directed by Suzie Malloy. I am glad our staff had the opportunity to spend some time together with the Lord on retreat to rejuvenate their prayer life.
Thank You
Our sincerest thanks to everyone who came out and made the Angry Crab Shack dining fundraiser a huge success! From your support of dining on 2/26/23 at our local Angry Crab Shack location in Tempe, we received a donation of $1,000. We are very blessed to have wonderful local businesses that support our church mission during this process of our building project. Thanks again to our friends at the Angry Crab Shack and everyone who came out to make this event successful! Special thanks to Stephanie Templeton for making this happen and to Anna Howard for organizing.
Parish Lenten Activities
I invite everyone to come and join us at our weekly Stations of the Cross on Fridays through the season of Lent from 6-6:30pm, followed by a fish dinner. We have different ministries leading the Stations each week. I look forward to seeing you.
I also remind everyone that we have our parish Lenten Prayer Night Sessions (Dynamics of Prayer) from 6:15-7:15 pm on Tuesdays through March 28 in the science classroom at the St. John Bosco School campus. Please feel free to come and join us even if you missed the first session last week. Remember to bring your Bible.
Please mark your calendar for our annual parish Lenten Penance Service at 7pm on Wednesday, March 15 in the SJB multipurpose room. We will have several priests available for Confessions and I hope you will make this part of your Lent.
Congratulations
I am happy to share that our very own St. John Bosco Catholic School was voted Best Private School in Ahwatukee! Thank you everyone who voted and who continues to support the school. I thank the teachers, staff, parents, families and especially the students for making our school the best!
Please join me in praying for the school community as they begin their spring break next Thursday afternoon. May each student, teacher and staff enjoy a nice break and come back refreshed and renewed and ready to finish off the 3rd trimester strong.
