On behalf of our parish and school community, I thank Marianne Biegler, President, and Marc Rivas, member of the St. John Bosco School Board for their dedicated service over the past six years. They have completed their terms as board members as we come to the end of this academic year. I thank Marianne for her exceptional leadership, dedication, and commitment to our school community. Her vision and tireless efforts have brought about significant positive changes, and her legacy will be remembered for years to come. Marianne and Marc's commitment to excellence in education and unwavering support for our mission have been invaluable. While we will miss them on the school board, I look forward to their continuous support in the other committees and ministries they are involved in.  

  

On the same note, congratulations to the new officials of the board: Cindy Casaus, President; Laura Underwood, Vice President; and John Naset, Secretary. I assure them of my prayers and support as they embark on their journey to lead the St. John Bosco School Board. Their combined expertise, dedication, and vision will undoubtedly foster growth, innovation, and excellence within our school community. We look forward to witnessing the positive changes and achievements that will come under their stewardship. Together, let's continue to build a bright future for our school and its students. 

  

Please join me in congratulating all those graduating this season. I invite all those who recently graduated (and those graduating in the next few weeks) from preschool, Kindergarten, 8th grade, high school, and college/universities to a special graduation blessing “Graduation Mass” during our 11am Mass next Sunday, June 1st, here in our St. Benedict Parish. Please feel free to wear your graduation gowns when coming for this special 11am Mass. 

  

I wish everyone a Happy Memorial weekend. As we observe the Memorial weekend, let us remember to pray for all those who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty to protect us. Let us pray especially for the families of all our fallen heroes in the Armed Forces as we mourn with them the loss of their loved ones. We also pray for the safety and protection of first responders and all those who currently serve our country both here and abroad. As a reminder, the parish office will be closed on Monday, May 26 in observance of the holiday. Daily Mass will still be celebrated in the Chapel at 8:15am. 

 

En nombre de nuestra parroquia y comunidad escolar, agradezco a Marianne Biegler, Presidenta, y a Marc Rivas, miembro de la Junta Escolar de St. John Bosco, por sus seis años de servicio dedicado. Han concluido sus términos como miembros de la junta al cerrar este año académico. Agradezco especialmente a Marianne por su liderazgo excepcional, dedicación y compromiso con nuestra comunidad escolar. Su visión y esfuerzo incansable han generado cambios muy positivos, y su legado será recordado por muchos años. El compromiso de Marianne y Marc con la excelencia educativa y su firme apoyo a nuestra misión ha sido invaluable. Aunque extrañaremos su presencia en la junta escolar, esperamos seguir contando con su apoyo en otros comités y ministerios donde participan. 

Asimismo, felicito a los nuevos directivos de la junta: Cindy Casaus, Presidenta; Laura Underwood, Vicepresidenta; y John Naset, Secretario. Mis oraciones y apoyo estaran con ellos mientras inician su labor al frente de la Junta Escolar de St. John Bosco. Su experiencia, compromiso y visión, sin duda, fomentarán el crecimiento, la innovación y la excelencia en nuestra comunidad escolar. Esperamos con entusiasmo los cambios positivos y logros que se darán bajo su liderazgo. Juntos, sigamos construyendo un futuro brillante para nuestra escuela y sus estudiantes. 

Los invito a unirse a mí para felicitar a todos los que se gradúan en esta temporada. Invito especialmente a todos los que se han graduado recientemente (o lo harán en las próximas semanas) de preescolar, kínder, 8.º grado, secundaria y universidad a una Misa especial de bendición de graduación el próximo domingo, 1 de junio, durante la misa de las 11:00 a.m. aquí en nuestra parroquia de St. Benedict. Si lo desean, pueden asistir con su toga de graduación para esta misa especial. 

Deseo a todos un feliz fin de semana del Día de los Caídos. Al conmemorar este día, recordemos orar por todos aquellos que dieron su vida en cumplimiento del deber para protegernos. Oremos especialmente por las familias de nuestros héroes caídos, acompañándolos en su dolor por la pérdida de sus seres queridos. También pedimos por la seguridad y protección de los socorristas y de todos los que actualmente sirven a nuestro país, tanto aquí como en el extranjero. Como recordatorio, la oficina parroquial estará cerrada el lunes 26 de mayo en observancia del feriado. Sin embargo, se celebrará la misa diaria en la capilla a las 8:15 a.m.
