Dear Parishioner,
It is with great sadness that I inform you of the sudden passing of one of our ministry leaders, Russ Spencer, on Saturday, May 31, 2025. Russ was found in his room, seated peacefully in his recliner. At this time, the cause of his passing has not yet been confirmed.
Russ was a cornerstone of our parish community, dedicating his time, talent, and heart to serving us all, as President of the Parish Pastoral Council, Ministry Leader for the Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist, and Coordinator of the OCIA. He was also actively pursuing his vocation through the deaconate formation program with the Diocese of Phoenix. His devotion to his faith and to our parish was unwavering and an inspiration to many.
We understand that this news is difficult to process, and we invite everyone to join together in prayer for Russ, his family, and his loved ones during this time of grief. Let us also hold onto the hope and comfort that our faith provides, trusting that God will welcome Russ into His eternal embrace.
To honor Russ’s life and legacy, a funeral Mass has been scheduled for this Friday, June 6th, at 11:00 AM in our Church. Prior to the Mass, a Funeral Rosary will be held at 10:00 AM. We encourage all members of the parish community to join us in these sacred ceremonies to celebrate Russ’s contributions and to offer prayers for his eternal peace.
May the Blessed Mother and the Holy Angels lead him home to be with the Lord. Eternal rest grant unto Russ, O Lord, and let your perpetual light shine upon him.
