“All roads lead to All Saints Parish, Mesa tomorrow” for the priestly ordination of our Deacon, Connor Companik. The ordination Mass will start at 10am. Deacon Connor holds a unique place in our hearts as the first former student of St. John Bosco school to be ordained as a priest. His journey of faith and commitment serves as an inspiration to us all, and we are blessed to be able to witness this new chapter in his vocation. Rev. Connor will celebrate a Thanksgiving Mass here at St. Benedict Parish on Sunday, June 8th at 9:00 AM. Please consider inviting your family and friends to these beautiful events. Your presence and prayers are greatly appreciated.  

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to each and every member of our parish community for your incredible support during the funeral of Russ Spencer. Your prayers, kindness, and presence brought immense comfort to his family and our community and truly exemplified the Christian love and fellowship that define our parish community. 

My special thanks to the Biegler family, the Diocesan Deacons, the Event Ministers, the Liturgy Committee, Pastoral Care and Bereavement Ministers, our dedicated Parish Staff, Russ’ friends and colleagues. I was deeply touched by the incredibly prompt response from everyone, sending donations, organizing the liturgical arrangements, providing emotional and spiritual support to his family and our community and, above all, offering prayers for the repose of his soul. Your acts of kindness and solidarity during this difficult time are a testimony to the true spirit of St. Benedict parish, our spiritual home where all feel loved, welcomed and supported.  

His burial will take place on Tuesday next week, June 10, in Yuma, AZ. A group of parishioners have organized a 9-day Rosary Novena for the repose of the soul of Russ. This will take place at 6:30pm beginning on Wednesday, June 11 and ending on Thursday, June 19 in the Church. This is optional, but everyone is welcome to join the prayer service.  

Let us continue to keep Russ’ family in our prayers. Thank you for being such an integral part of this community and for standing by us in moments of sorrow and healing. May God’s blessings continue to guide and inspire us all and may God grant Russ eternal rest in His Kingdom.  

This month of June has been a roller-coaster experience for our parish community, from the sad passing of a member in active ministry to the joyful ordination of our deacon and the upcoming exciting Vacation Bible School. We welcome the 80 students from kindergarten through 5th Grade who will be participating in the Vacation Bible School next week, Monday, June 9 to Friday, June 13 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at the St. John Bosco multipurpose room. This year's VBS theme is "True North." Participants will enjoy Bible activities, music, art, games, snacks, and developing new friendships. They will learn about Jesus while exploring the Alaskan frontier as they trek through Alaska's tundra and discover what it means to trust in Him, they will make connections related to their faith. 

I thank the VBS organizing team led by Sister Delia, parents, volunteers, and all those who supported VBS with donations. 

Happy Pentecost! With the celebration of Pentecost this weekend, we have now concluded the Eastertide, 50 days after Easter Sunday. At the end of the 5pm (Sunday) Mass, we will remove the Paschal Candle from the altar as a symbolic end of the Season. Pentecost reminds us of the rich history of our faith. We often refer to it as the “Birthday of the Catholic Church.” This is because the Catholic Church was founded on Pentecost with the coming of the Holy Spirit.  

 

I thank everyone for your participation in Liturgies and personal prayers during the Eastertide. May we be strengthened with the gifts of the Holy Spirit and may God continue to bless our parish community with peace, love and unity as we end the Eastertide this weekend.  

 

 

“Todos los caminos llevan mañana a la Parroquia All Saints en Mesa” para la ordenación sacerdotal de nuestro diácono, Connor Companik. La Misa de ordenación comenzará a las 10:00 a.m. El diácono Connor ocupa un lugar especial en nuestros corazones, ya que será el primer exalumno de la escuela St. John Bosco en ser ordenado sacerdote. Su camino de fe y compromiso es una inspiración para todos nosotros, y estamos bendecidos de poder presenciar este nuevo capítulo en su vocación. El Rev. Connor celebrará una Misa de Acción de Gracias aquí en la Parroquia St. Benedict el domingo 8 de junio a las 9:00 a.m. Les invitamos a considerar asistir e invitar a sus familiares y amigos a estos hermosos eventos. Su presencia y oraciones serán profundamente apreciadas. 

 

Quiero expresar mi más sincero agradecimiento a cada miembro de nuestra comunidad parroquial por el increíble apoyo brindado durante el funeral de Russ Spencer. Sus oraciones, amabilidad y presencia ofrecieron un gran consuelo a su familia y verdaderamente ejemplificaron el amor cristiano y la fraternidad que definen a nuestra comunidad parroquial. 

 

Un agradecimiento muy especial a la familia Biegler, a los diáconos de la Diócesis, a los ministros de eventos, al comité de liturgia, a los ministros de cuidado pastoral y duelo, a nuestro dedicado personal parroquial, a los amigos y colegas de Russ. Me conmovió profundamente la respuesta tan inmediata de todos: enviando donaciones, organizando los arreglos litúrgicos, brindando apoyo emocional y espiritual a su familia y a nuestra comunidad y, sobre todo, ofreciendo oraciones por el eterno descanso de su alma. Sus actos de bondad y solidaridad durante este tiempo difícil son un testimonio del verdadero espíritu de la parroquia St. Benedict, nuestro hogar espiritual donde todos se sienten amados, bienvenidos y apoyados. 

Su entierro se llevará a cabo el próximo martes, 10 de junio, en Yuma, AZ. Un grupo de feligreses ha organizado una Novena del Rosario de 9 días por el eterno descanso del alma de Russ. Esto se llevará a cabo a las 6:30 p.m. comenzando el miércoles 11 de junio y finalizando el jueves 19 de junio en la iglesia. Esta oración es opcional, pero todos están cordialmente invitados a unirse. 

 

Sigamos manteniendo a la familia de Russ en nuestras oraciones. Gracias por ser una parte tan importante de esta comunidad y por acompañarnos en momentos de dolor y sanación. Que las bendiciones de Dios continúen guiándonos e inspirándonos, y que Dios le conceda a Russ el descanso eterno en Su Reino. 

 

Este mes de junio ha sido una verdadera montaña rusa para nuestra comunidad parroquial, desde la triste pérdida de un miembro en ministerio activo hasta la alegre ordenación de nuestro diácono y la emocionante Escuela Bíblica de Vacaciones que se acerca. Damos la bienvenida a los 80 estudiantes de Kinder a 5.º grado que participarán en la Escuela Bíblica de Vacaciones la próxima semana, del lunes 9 al viernes 13 de junio, de 9:00 a.m. a 12:00 p.m., en el salón de usos múltiples de la Escuela St. John Bosco. El tema de la VBS de este año es "True North" (Verdadero Norte). Los participantes disfrutarán de actividades bíblicas, música, arte, juegos, refrigerios y nuevas amistades. Aprenderán sobre Jesús mientras exploran la frontera de Alaska y descubren lo que significa confiar en Él, haciendo conexiones importantes con su fe. 

 

Agradezco al equipo organizador liderado por la Hermana Delia, a los padres de familia, voluntarios y a todos los que apoyaron la VBS con sus donaciones. 

 

¡Feliz Pentecostés! Con la celebración de Pentecostés este fin de semana, concluimos el Tiempo Pascual, 50 días después del Domingo de Pascua. Al final de la Misa de las 5:00 p.m. (domingo), retiraremos el Cirio Pascual del altar como símbolo del fin de este tiempo litúrgico. Pentecostés nos recuerda la rica historia de nuestra fe. A menudo nos referimos a ella como el "Cumpleaños de la Iglesia Católica", ya que fue en Pentecostés cuando nació la Iglesia con la venida del Espíritu Santo. 

 

Agradezco a todos por su participación en las liturgias y oraciones personales durante el Tiempo Pascual. Que seamos fortalecidos con los dones del Espíritu Santo, y que Dios continúe bendiciendo a nuestra comunidad parroquial con paz, amor y unidad al concluir este tiempo sagrado.
