Farewell and Blessings for Sr. Delia, OP 

It is with both joy and heartfelt sadness that we share the news that Sr. Delia, OP will soon be leaving our parish community to begin a new assignment as Regional Superior of her congregation in Hawaii. For the past three years, Sr. Delia has been a treasured part of our parish and school community, and we will miss her dearly. Sr. Delia has given so much of herself to our parish, guiding and inspiring us through her leadership in Faith Formation, enriching our Liturgies, and bringing joy to our young students during Sister’s Hour at SJB School. Her devotion, kindness, and deep faith have been a blessing to us all. While we are sad to see her go, we are excited for what lies ahead and are proud to support her in this important new role. We send her off with love, gratitude, and prayers for strength and joy in her mission. 

 
I invite the entire parish and school community to a Farewell Potluck Party in Sr. Delia’s honor Tomorrow, Saturday, June 14, at 6:15pm in the St. John Bosco Multipurpose Room (MPR). Let us come together to share food, stories, and heartfelt goodbye. Please bring a dish to share as we celebrate the wonderful years we have shared together with Sr. Delia and send her off with our love. 

Sr. Delia, thank you for everything. You will always be part of our St. Benedict family. May God continue to bless and guide you in the journey ahead and know that we look forward to your visits! 

Congratulations to Fr. Connor on his priestly ordination that took place last weekend. His steadfast dedication, unwavering faith, and perseverance have brought him to this remarkable milestone. I thank everyone who attended the ordination ceremony, Fr. Connor’s Thanksgiving Mass, and the reception held in his honor. Your presence and prayers made these events even more meaningful and joyous. The spirit of unity and support among all gathered was a testament to the strength of our faith community. 

 

I am excited to share that Fr. Connor’s first assignment is St. Mary Parish in Chandler, AZ.  While Fr. Connor settles into his new role, we eagerly look forward to inviting him to celebrate Masses with our parish and school community in the near future. As Fr. Congratulations on a very successful 2025 Vacation Bible School (VBS) that took place through this week. What an incredible time it was, filled with laughter, learning, and spiritual enrichment! With 80 students participating, the event was packed with engaging activities such as games, crafts, songs, and Bible lessons that nurtured spiritual growth and curiosity. The children not only had fun but also learned profound lessons about God’s love and teachings, laying a strong foundation for their faith journey.  

 First and foremost, I would like to thank the 80 students who signed up and participated in this year's VBS. You brought energy, enthusiasm, and a wonderful sense of curiosity, making each day a true delight. My heartfelt appreciation to our dedicated team of volunteers, led by Sr. Delia. Your commitment, creativity, and tireless efforts ensured that every moment of VBS was meaningful and memorable. From organizing activities to guiding the children with love and patience, you were the pillars of this event's success. I thank the parents for entrusting your children to us for this special week and supporting their involvement with encouragement and prayers. Additionally, my deepest thanks to those who generously donated items to support VBS. Your contributions played a vital role in enriching the program and providing the resources we needed. Thank you all for contributing to an event that truly reflects the love and faith of our parish and school community. 

 

I wish all fathers, grandfathers, godfathers, and father figures in our community a Happy Father’s Day and God’s blessings. Your love, guidance, and sacrifices reflect God’s care and are deeply appreciated. Fatherhood is a sacred calling filled with joys and challenges. Today, we honor your devotion, the lessons you teach, and the strength you provide. We also remember and pray for fathers who are no longer with us and those feeling distant or disconnected. May God bless you abundantly and fill your day with gratitude and joy. 

 

Con alegría y a la vez con profunda tristeza compartimos la noticia de que la Hna. Delia, OP, pronto dejará nuestra comunidad parroquial para comenzar una nueva misión como Superiora Regional de su congregación en Hawái. Durante los últimos tres años, la Hna. Delia ha sido una parte muy querida de nuestra parroquia y escuela, y la vamos a extrañar muchísimo. Ha entregado tanto de sí misma a nuestra comunidad, guiándonos e inspirándonos con su liderazgo en la Formación de Fe, enriqueciendo nuestras Liturgias y trayendo alegría a nuestros estudiantes durante la Hora con la Hermana en la escuela de St. John Bosco. Su dedicación, amabilidad y profunda fe han sido una bendición para todos nosotros. Aunque nos entristece su partida, nos alegra lo que viene por delante y nos sentimos orgullosos de apoyarla en este nuevo e importante rol. La despedimos con amor, gratitud y oraciones por fortaleza y alegría en su misión. 

Invito a toda la comunidad parroquial y escolar a una Fiesta de Despedida con comida compartida (Potluck) en honor a la Hna. Delia, mañana, sábado 14 de junio, a las 6:15 p.m. en el Salón Multipropósito (MPR) de St. John Bosco. Reunámonos para compartir alimentos, historias y una emotiva despedida. Por favor, traiga un platillo para compartir mientras celebramos los maravillosos años que hemos compartido junto a la Hna. Delia y le deseamos lo mejor con todo nuestro cariño. 

Hna. Delia, gracias por todo. Siempre será parte de la familia de St. Benedict. Que Dios siga bendiciéndola y guiándola en este nuevo camino, y sepa que esperamos con alegría sus futuras visitas. 

 

Felicitamos al Padre Connor por su ordenación sacerdotal que se celebró el pasado fin de semana. Su firme dedicación, fe inquebrantable y perseverancia lo han llevado a este maravilloso logro. Agradezco a todos los que asistieron a la ceremonia de ordenación, a la Misa de Acción de Gracias del P. Connor y a la recepción en su honor. Su presencia y oraciones hicieron que estos eventos fueran aún más significativos y llenos de gozo. El espíritu de unidad y apoyo entre todos fue un verdadero testimonio de la fortaleza de nuestra comunidad de fe. 

Me complace compartir que la primera asignación del P. Connor será en la Parroquia St. Mary en Chandler, AZ. Mientras se adapta a su nuevo rol, esperamos poder invitarlo pronto a celebrar misas con nuestra comunidad parroquial y escolar. Mientras el P. ¡Felicidades por una Semana Bíblica de Vacaciones (VBS) 2025 muy exitosa que tuvo lugar esta semana! Fue un tiempo increíble, lleno de risas, aprendizaje y enriquecimiento espiritual. Con 80 estudiantes participando, el evento estuvo repleto de actividades como juegos, manualidades, canciones y lecciones bíblicas que fomentaron el crecimiento espiritual y la curiosidad. Los niños no solo se divirtieron, sino que también aprendieron lecciones profundas sobre el amor y las enseñanzas de Dios, estableciendo una base sólida para su camino de fe. 

Primero que nada, quiero agradecer a los 80 estudiantes que participaron este año. Ustedes trajeron energía, entusiasmo y una maravillosa curiosidad que hicieron de cada día un verdadero placer. Mi más sincero agradecimiento al equipo de voluntarios liderado por la Hna. Delia. Su compromiso, creatividad y esfuerzo incansable aseguraron que cada momento del VBS fuera significativo y memorable. Gracias a los padres por confiar sus hijos a nosotros durante esta semana especial, y por su apoyo con palabras de aliento y oraciones. También agradezco de corazón a quienes generosamente donaron materiales para apoyar el VBS. Sus contribuciones fueron fundamentales para enriquecer el programa y proveer los recursos necesarios. Gracias a todos por contribuir a un evento que refleja verdaderamente el amor y la fe de nuestra comunidad parroquial y escolar. 

 

Deseo a todos los padres, abuelos, padrinos y figuras paternas de nuestra comunidad un Feliz Día del Padre y muchas bendiciones de Dios. Su amor, guía y sacrificios reflejan el cuidado de Dios y son profundamente apreciados. La paternidad es una vocación sagrada, llena de alegrías y desafíos. Hoy honramos su entrega, las lecciones que enseñan y la fortaleza que brindan. También recordamos y oramos por los padres que ya no están con nosotros y por aquellos que se sienten distantes o desconectados. Que Dios los colme de bendiciones y llene su día de gratitud y alegría.
