Dear Brethren,

We are grateful to all who attended our first Bingo Night of the year and made it a huge success. It was a wonderful evening together with fellow parishioners and we want to thank Lani Gore, our Events Coordinator and her team for planning and setting up the MPR for the event. We would also like to thank Karen Ahearne and Matthew Ahearne who anchored the Bingo this time. There were rumours that Eamonn  Ahearne, for whom Karen substituted, may lose his place to his substitute if he let her cover for him one more time.

Last weekend, we revived the 5pm Sunday Teen and Young Adult Mass in a beautiful way. The Mass was well-attended and was followed by a joy-filled social event. We want to thank Fr. Emmanuel, Phil Arkfeld, Erin Fish and Lani Gore whom we tasked with planning to revive this Mass. The amazing work they did quietly was evident in the beautiful opening of the Mass. Please invite more teens and young adults, 13 to 39 years of age, to not only attend but also participate actively at this Mass by serving in any ministry they feel called to. Feel free to share with us your ideas on what can be done to improve on the worship experience of our young parishioners at this Mass.

Many thanks to all who attended the 7pm Mass that was celebrated on Tuesday, January 20, to mark the 2nd anniversary of the dedication of our Church. We thank all who participated in various ways to build this beautiful Church and all who continue to volunteer and serve in it in order to make it a desired place of encounter with God our loving Father. May God hear the prayers of all who pray here and may people find peace and joy each time they come to St. Benedict Catholic Church.

Discussions with Acanthus Development about the senior living facility to be built on the grounds of our Church are still going on. There are some generous offers that Acanthus is willing to make for the good of our parish. We are considering the viability of these offers and shall inform you as soon as we have more information and are able to guarantee their benefit to the parish. Be sure that we will also let you know when we have a definite date for groundbreaking.

Queridos hermanos,

Agradecemos a todos los que asistieron a nuestra primera Noche de Bingo del año y la convirtieron en un gran éxito. Fue una velada maravillosa junto con nuestros feligreses y queremos dar las gracias a Lani Gore, nuestra coordinadora de eventos, y a su equipo por planificar y preparar el MPR para el evento. También queremos dar las gracias a Karen Ahearne y Matthew Ahearne, que se encargaron de presentar el bingo en esta ocasión. Corrían rumores de que Earnonn  Ahearne, a quien sustituyó Karen, podría perder su puesto si dejaba que ella lo sustituyera una vez más.

El fin de semana pasado, reanudamos la misa dominical para adolescentes y jóvenes adultos a las 5 de la tarde de una manera maravillosa. La misa contó con una gran asistencia y fue seguida de un evento social lleno de alegría. Queremos dar las gracias al padre Emmanuel, a Phil Arkfeld, a Erin Fish y a Lani Gore, a quienes encargamos la planificación de la reanudación de esta misa. El increíble trabajo que realizaron discretamente quedó patente en la hermosa apertura de la misa. Por favor, inviten a más adolescentes y jóvenes adultos, de entre 13 y 39 años, no solo a asistir, sino también a participar activamente en esta misa, sirviendo en cualquier ministerio al que se sientan llamados. No duden en compartir con nosotros sus ideas sobre lo que se puede hacer para mejorar la experiencia de culto de nuestros jóvenes feligreses en esta misa.

Muchas gracias a todos los que asistieron a la misa de las 7 p. m. que se celebró el martes 20 de enero para conmemorar el segundo aniversario de la dedicación de nuestra iglesia. Agradecemos a todos los que participaron de diversas maneras en la construcción de esta hermosa iglesia y a todos los que continúan ofreciéndose como voluntarios y sirviendo en ella para hacerla un lugar deseado de encuentro con Dios, nuestro Padre amoroso. Que Dios escuche las oraciones de todos los que rezan aquí y que las personas encuentren paz y alegría cada vez que vienen a la iglesia católica San Benito.

Las conversaciones con Acanthus Development sobre la residencia para personas mayores que se construirá en los terrenos de nuestra iglesia siguen en curso. Acanthus está dispuesta a hacer algunas ofertas generosas por el bien de nuestra parroquia. Estamos estudiando la viabilidad de estas ofertas y les informaremos tan pronto como tengamos más información y podamos garantizar su beneficio para la parroquia. Tengan por seguro que también les comunicaremos la fecha definitiva para el inicio de las obras.
