Dear Friends,
Welcome to this year’s celebration of the birthday of the Catholic Church, the coming of the Holy Spirit on the Apostles and the end of the season of Easter. Pentecost which is celebrated fifty days after Easter is the feast of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, who proceeds from God the Father and the Son, to empower and embolden the Apostles as well as the early disciples to brave all challenges and confidently preach and witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ without fear. From men who were so afraid of the Jews that they practically went into hiding after the death of Jesus on the cross, the disciples were transformed by the power of the same Holy Spirit who effected the incarnation into fearless proselytizers of the Christian faith. As promised by Christ, if we too love Him, we will keep His commandment of love, and He will ask the Father to send us the Holy Spirit who will revive us and renew the face of the earth. May our celebration of the feast of Pentecost please the Father whose Spirit will take away the fear that limits and hinders us from executing the Apostolic mandate Christ has graciously given us. Happy Pentecost!
Today was the last day of school for this academic year for our St John Bosco School community. We wish all our teachers and students a well deserved rest during the Summer break.
For all students, please enjoy your summer break, listen to your parents and do not stay away from Jesus. If you travel, ensure that you remind your parents to take you to Church at least during the weekend and remember to pray for all of us. May God keep you safe and bless you.
This week we welcomed the Mother General of the Dominican Sisters, Mother Nemia. She met with Bishop Dolan while here in Phoenix. She will travel next to visit with the Dominican sisters in Carefree, Texas and then Hawaii before she goes back to the Philippines. We wish her safe travels and thank her for visiting us here at St. Benedict and St. John Bosco.
On Monday, Memorial Day, we remember with gratitude and we honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice. May you all have a meaningful Memorial Day.
Please be kind and may God Bless You.

Queridos amigos:
