Dear friends,
Good news, we have a new Parish manager!
We are thrilled to announce to you that Mary M. Larson, currently a parishioner of St Andrew’s Parish is our new Parish manager after a rigorous process that included a couple of interviews. Mary has responded positively to the Holy Spirit's prompting to serve at St Benedict with an exceptional skill range, quality experience and, in our modest judgment, is blessed with the right motivation to manage a faith based organization like our beloved parish. We are pleased that in addition to her work experience, she possesses an enviable record of significant parish volunteering at her current parish especially in the O.C.I.A program, an experience that we hope will be very useful in the discharge of her duties in our amazing faith community. After completing Diocesan requirements, Mary will commence as Parish manager at St Benedict on August 10, 2026. We invite you to pray that the grace of God will always be made readily available for her as she enjoys a long and fruitful period of service to God and our faith community at St Benedict.
While we welcome Mary to St Benedict and wish her a blessed encounter with our parish community, let us not forget to express our sentiments of gratitude to Maryola Sanchez-Fabilena, Julie Flanigan and Kelly McLean who with the help of other dedicated staff of St. Benedict and St. John Bosco, as well as our very competent Finance and Pastoral councils kept this parish afloat from April to date when we had no office manager. We are also very grateful to Jackie Bish and Mike Low who did the preliminary phone interviews that made the job of the interviewing panelists easier. We always achieve great things whenever we allow the Holy Spirit to guide us to work together towards a common goal.
Welcome back to school.
This Wednesday, Aug 5, 2026, at 7:45am, the big gates of our beloved St. John Bosco Catholic School shall be open to welcome learners, faculty and parents as we begin a new school year. We have all missed having our students and staff on campus and we are excited to have everyone including our new students and families back. This year is special because St. John Bosco Catholic School shall be celebrating 25 years of service to faith and community. We invite you to keep an eye on Mrs Jamie Bescak’s parish bulletin back page writings to remain informed about the activities lined up to celebrate our silver jubilee.
First Friday Adoration and Benediction.
Friday Aug 7, 2026 will be the first Friday of the month and so we shall have our day of Adoration which shall begin at 9 am immediately after the school mass. The Blessed Sacrament shall be exposed for adoration in the chapel until 5:50 pm when we shall have a Benediction that will include Vespers, the evening prayer of the Church. We invite you to sign up for time with Jesus and please join us at 5:50 pm for the adoration.
I invite you to join our community at the Parish Bingo this evening starting at 6 pm at the SJB Muiti-purpose room where fun, food and lots of prizes are in store.
Please be kind and may God Bless You.

Queridos amigos:
¡Buenas noticias!

The temperatures remain high here in the Valley of the Sun, so please continue to donate cases of refreshing water to the parish lobby.
Each week the St. Vincent de Paul water truck stops by and picks up all the donations and distributes them to the homeless on the streets and the SVdP dining halls. Your contributions are very much appreciated by many.
