Dear friends,
Please Remember Fr Bob!
This weekend, I would like to ask you to remember in your hearts and prayers Fr Bob Binta, our Pastor of many years who returned to the Lord eight years ago. Fr Bob is fondly remembered for his kindness and down to earth shepherding of the people of God here at St Benedict and St John Bosco Catholic School. We thank Fr Emmanuel who celebrated Fr Bob’s Memorial Mass on Thursday and we thank all those who attended the Mass to pray for the peaceful repose of his soul. May he intercede for all of us as we continue to journey with the Lord in a community that was very dear to him.
Annual Report
The 2025-2026 Annual Report has been completed and I look forward to sharing with you the many great things we have accomplished together during the fiscal year that just ended. The link to the report will be posted to the website next week and our wonderful finance council will present the report in all the masses in the coming weeks.
Activity in the Back Lot
You may have noticed the presence of some activity along with materials and equipment in the empty back lot on church property. The City of Phoenix is merely using our space to stage material, equipment, and vehicles that are needed for the sewer repair construction taking place on 48th St from now until October. This activity is not related to the Acanthus Senior Living Community that will be built in the space in the future. We do not yet have any updates or a timeline on the senior living project, but please be assured that when we do, the information will be shared with all of you. Thank you for your patience.
Please be kind and may God Bless You.

Queridos amigos,

Volunteers Needed
A Sacristan is a volunteer who prepares the church for Mass, sees that it runs smoothly, and closes the church after Mass. They work mostly behind the scenes but play a very important part.
St. Benedict is currently in need of more Sacristans! This is a wonderful ministry to step into, especially for Eucharistic Ministers and older Altar Servers. If you are interested or would like more information, please call the parish office or click here.

Water Drive - Ongoing
The temperatures remain high here in the Valley of the Sun, so please continue to donate cases of refreshing water to the parish lobby.
Each week the St. Vincent de Paul water truck stops by and picks up all the donations and distributes them to the homeless on the streets and the SVdP dining halls. Your contributions are very much appreciated by many.
