Dear friends,
Hurray, St. John Bosco is 25!
We would like to congratulate the principal, faculty, students and staff of our beloved St. John Bosco Catholic school on the occasion of the 25th anniversary. Rooted in faith and rising in excellence, St. John Bosco has been a blessing to the community here and to the universal Church. We feel the need to express our gratitude to God for His faithfulness and blessing. We thank the Roman Catholic Diocese of Phoenix that gave the school to St. Benedict for pastoral care, and to the entire St. John Bosco School community for the incredible sacrifices and efforts that have lifted our beloved school from its modest beginnings to the Blue Ribbon school it has become. We should never forget the four parishes of Corpus Christi, St. Benedict, St. Andrews and Holy Spirit that collaborated to care for St. John Bosco before it became a ministry at St. Benedict.
To mark this great milestone, we shall celebrate an anniversary thanksgiving mass on Friday September 25 at 8:15am in our St. Benedict Church with many of our former pastors, principals, teachers and alumni as special guests. There will be exciting events during and after the mass. The next day September 26, in the evening, the school shall be hosting its 25th Anniversary Gala which promises to be a colourful event.
Please pray for our beloved St. John Bosco Catholic School. May God continue to be at the center of all we do and may the life of everyone at our school glorify God at all times.
Congratulations, St. John Bosco!
Feast of St. Padre Pio
We invite everyone to join us at the mass to mark the official inauguration of the St. Padre Pio prayer ministry in our parish on Wednesday September 23 at 7pm followed by a small reception. Please join us at this mass and consider joining this pious society to nourish your faith especially in the Most Holy Eucharist.
Diocesan Convocation
Fr. Emmanuel and I will join our brother priests from the Diocese of Phoenix for the annual convocation in Flagstaff next week. We will have all regularly scheduled masses during the week thanks to the support of our brothers from the Via Christi Society. Fr. Emmanuel Tamen will traveling from Miami, AZ and Fr. Simon Peter is coming from Sierra Vista, AZ to celebrate the daily masses and the St. Padre Pio mass in our absence. Please extend a warm welcome to our visiting priests.
While we are away, I ask for your prayers for Fr. Emmanuel and I, and you can count on our prayers for you, our beloved parishioners of St. Benedict.
Please be kind and may God Bless you.

Queridos amigos,
¡Enhorabuena, San Juan Bosco!
Water Drive Continues
Just as the temperatures remain in the 100s here in the Valley, so does the need for bottled water for those living on the streets for finding a meal at any of the St. Vincent de Paul dining halls.
Please continue to bring your much-appreciated donations of water to the parish lobby before Mass or anytime during office hours. Thanks so much!
