Dear friends,
St. John Bosco's 25th AnniversaryThe celebration of St. John Bosco’s 25th Anniversary began beautifully this morning with the Holy Mass. I am deeply grateful to our brother priests—Fr. James, Fr. Gary, Fr. Dennis, Fr. Teilo, and Fr. Jim—who joined Fr. Emmanuel and me for this special liturgy. Today, we honor and thank those who laid the strong foundation that continues to ground our community today. Above all, we thank God for His faithful providence over the last 25 years. May the years ahead be even more fruitful as we remain rooted in faith and dedicated to educating the whole child.
Adoration and BenedictionJoin us on Friday, October 2, for First Friday Adoration of the Holy Eucharist after the daily mass followed by evening prayers and Benediction starting at 5:50 pm. I invite you once again to spend quiet, meaningful time with our Lord throughout the day. In the evening, let us fill the chapel together as one family to pray, sing, and adore Jesus Christ.
Blessing of the PetsWe shall have our annual Blessing of the Pets on Saturday, October 3, at 9:00 am under the bell tower. We look forward to seeing you and your animal companions as we honor St. Francis of Assisi and his deep love for all of God's creation. All pets are welcome!
Remembering VioletOn a sad note but in total submission to the will of God, may I use this opportunity to inform you of the passing of a beloved member of parish community, Violet Byron. Violet, along with many others has been a faithful member of our parish who served in many ministries including being a lector who joyously proclaimed God’s Word, a ministry from which she “retired” just a few months ago. Violet was also a known face at our daily masses and at our First Friday of the month Adoration whenever she was not seriously sick. She regularly brought gifts of chocolates and other niceties to her priests and the staff at St Benedict. Her faithfulness to this parish community was exemplary and we will miss her smiling presence immensely.
While we mourn Violet, let me express our debt of gratitude to all parishioners who journeyed with her and made a great impact in her life. I would like to thank Mary Ann Kwilosz who remained her faithful friend and dutifully drove her to her favorite places including the Church. Mary Ann often referred to this consistent act of charity as her “ministry” at St. Benedict. Thank you for your fraternity and sacrifice.
May I encourage all parishioners to consider expanding and deepening our solidarity and charity as members of the Body of Christ by helping the elderly and those who may be unable to come to Church on their own. The Holy Spirit may be inviting us at this time to evangelize by simply helping a brother or sister come to Church.
May Violet Byron who did not doubt Christ’s redemptive power find in Him a merciful judgement and may God reward her with eternal life in Heaven where she will pray for us until we see her warm smile again.
Please be kind and may God Bless you.

Queridos amigos,
